I am focusing on the site functions and of course my GitHub repositories and projects. Still looking for financements and going through some difficulties, the 3D printing service is temporarily paused.
The website main goal is to develop my projects, communicate, also proving that "RepRap machines and the OPEN-SOURCE HARDWARE concept are the Future".
- the /objects listing with its menu entry (with a RSS file you can follow with a RSS Reader, consisting in a XML file containing the list of my actual objects or machines)
- a new section : /best-www-objects (also with a RSS file),
- a list of youtube /videos,
- and the "3D Printed by 3DLibre" /references section.
Don't hesitate to register and post on the forum.
About Discord
I am trying to build a community of 3D fans on my new Discord server. You can join it with the "Join discord" button at the bottom of this page. It will take you to https://www.discord.com then follow the steps. They have a web version and apps for Android, Windows, Linux and iOS !
Totally free and unlimited communications in audio + video + text chats (thread enabled).
Discord is a very good service but of course it's not a protocol like IRC which is older. To be complete -as a programmer- I always look under the hood, how a program like this works : Discord can run your actual browser and the app is built over Google Chrome, with a lot of Javascript and Cascaded Style Sheets (aka CSS), so it is cross-plateform and works "everywhere".
Another nice point is the use of the webRTC protocol which enables your browser to contact directly other users browsers, a form of "half" P2P. The audio and video streams do not go through Discord servers, but the channels, their images and all content are hosted by Discord.com "content delivery network". Seen ? ;)
Then you can come exchange ideas or ask questions to myself and other users... or just Play QuakeWorld ! ;) (yes I have servers running on this website's Virtual Private Server from OVH.COM). \m/, -_- ,\m/
